"The jam-packed program brought on another fine soloist, soprano Samantha Lane Talmadge, in "Knoxville Summer of 1915" by Samuel Barber (1910-81).... In this setting of childhood memories by writer James Agee, the atmosphere needs to be hushed and nostalgic. Happily, Talmadge's sensitive voicing of the delicate lines overcame... and at the end... her sustained high notes perfectly conveyed the spirit of affection and drowsy comfort."
